Long-term metformin users should get vitamin B12 levels checked periodically in view of the well-established association of low levels in users. Low B12 impairs cognition and is easily preventable or treated.

Is this a real metformin issue or is it really a B-12 lack. I have heard of cases of elderly patients with some mental not working well not on metformin but when given B-12 soups them back up
